The Canon PowerShot A520

The Canon PowerShot A520 was introduced in March of 2005. It captures 4 Meg images. It has a 35-140 mm (equivalent to 35 mm) zoom, shown missing the front bezel/lens cover. It still works, despite the damage. Not in the front view the lens mount has a button lower left that allows the bezel to be removed. There were accessories made that mounted over the entire lens assembly.

This camera has a DIGIC image processor. The camera was Pictbridge compatible, so you could send images from the camera to printers directly. Astoundingly this camera could be controlled from a PC with software included in the camera kit.

It has an optical viewfinder—which allowed less power consumption instead of using the 1.8 inch screen—so you could get more life from the two AA size batteries.

The camera has 20-shooting modes. Its shutter could  capture from 15 to 2000 sec, with all times longer than 1.3 second having noise reduction automatically applied.

The camera weighs 180 g (6.3 oz) without batteries.
